Irritation Profile

• Once-a-day Carac® has a favorable irritation profile[5]

• Irritation generally begins on day 4 and persists for duration of therapy[5]

• Irritation is localized to site of application. Local irritation is not markedly increased by extending treatment from 2 to 4 weeks; however, some patients may not tolerate up to 4 weeks of treatment[5].

  Favorable return to baseline of irritation after 4 weeks of treatment[8] Pooled results from 2 vehicle-controlled, randomized, double-blind, multicenter studies consisting of 384 adult male and female patients with actinic keratoses. Average severity of irritation by study day calculated by linear interpolation for each patient, then averaging results of each day.[8]

• Following treatment, irritation declines rapidly and usually falls below baseline within 2 weeks[5]
